The Problem Formulation of the Promise
The relationship between these parameters, these choices you can make, and their resulting metric of interest to you is in some sense always defined by a physical out. I don't imagine that you always have a straight line mathematical equation between those parometers and the ultimate property that you're trying to optimize. If you go forward and try to not have very explicit statement of these are the metrics i'm studying, it's going to be very hard to feel confident that you're doing things successful. And when i hear the way you describe that, i'm thinking ike english, natural language, more properly and like in a document, as opposed to a mathematical formulation of the promise.
