New York County's District Attorney Is a Local Prosecutor's Office, Not a Special Counsel Office

The New York DA's office is a local prosecutor's office. We had to work within the jurisdictional and procedural limitations imposed by New York law, which are substantial. It became clear over time that an enterprise corruption case was simply biting off more than we could chew. In doing some additional reporting, preparing to talk to you tonight, we were able to learn from sources that the team working right now at the New York DA’s office is about 20 lawyers and investigators.
