The Rise and Fall of Al Capone
In 1929, President Hoover met with a group of judges and law enforcement officials. They told him that Chicago was being run by the gangsters. He asked Attorney General to put together a task force to catch Capone. Assistant U.S. attorney Mabel Willibrant came out with the idea to go after Capone not for bootlegging but for tax evasion.
