We have a threshold for how much joy and happiness we will allow ourselves to have before we sabotage, so changing that threshold is it's work and it takes effort. I was anorexic years ago when I had so much self hatred and loathing because chemically my body was malnourished but also my mindset was really unhealthy due to the anorexia. It took a lot of very specific thought patterns and self help books and podcast and therapy to get me back on track.
