Portraiture - The Bow Bartlett Painting

When I started school I was pre-med. Maybe I would have been a good surgeon. But when I decided to change my major I didn't know what to paint honestly and he said you know you should start with yourself. Probably for the next 10 years I did self portraits which is kind of crazy. It also started that way because I couldn't find any models that wanted to poster me on campus. The paintings that I was making were of nude women that were ball headed because at that time I had shamed my head. They were almost like an illustration for an Octavia Butler book.
