Tolney's Themic Theories

In order to accurately predict the motion of all the objects in the solar system, you can't just have circular orbits. Tolney's theories included lots of other quirks too. They didn't think that there were real epicycles or eccentrics or quants. The Copernican model without any epicycles would have described approximately reality better than the model he actually published with the epicycles included.
