Short sellers Hindenburg and Nate Anderson have been very secretive about how this trade was made. They've built a short position of Adani through US traded bonds, which is fine. And non-Indian traded derivative instruments. The nature of the bet is so complicated and there's such little liquidity to do a bet like this from at least from what we understand.

Jay Powell warned US lawmakers that the Federal Reserve is prepared to return to bigger interest rate rises to fight inflation, and the US gender pay gap has barely budged in the past two decades. Plus, the FT’s Ortenca Aliaj explains how Hindenburg Research may have shorted Adani stocks.
