Are You Legally Blind Without Your Glasses?
If you can see the 2200 letter with your glasses on, and that's the best you can do, you're legally blind. Most of us have to move up to about 10 feet to see it. Some people can see it at 20 feet like Ted Williams was famous for his 2010 vision. You want to be able to see the seams on the ball because that tells you if you got a curve ball or you got whatever. But at the same time, you got to know where the ball is and you got a two tenths of a second. To figure that all out visually, visually, the better off you're going to do all other things being equal.
