Casturba's Story
Casturba, along with three others, became the first women to go to prison in south africa. Gondi treated her like a queen, massaging her body and scalp with neam oil. It was far from the last time she would go to prison as a non violent protester. She had successfully kicked off the women's movement and was being called a heroine in india.
