Are There Differences Within the Left in Latin America?

Peru is an outlier in terms of political turnover and chaos. There are no leaders in Peru who have true popular legitimacy, right? Even in the midst of this crisis, we're not seeing anyone emerge who can really lead the country forward. Are there differences within the left in Latin America? Or does it make sense to talk about populism on the left as well as the right for that matter?
