I Think the Book Is a Very, Very Humble Book
The book is constantly reminding the reader of how much we don't know. The problem with russoan on is that he didn't have a bloody clue what a free society would look like. Even jesuits who were over completely opposed to indigenous forms culture had to concede, and they do in their writings, that they had incredibly highly developed cultures of debate.
