The Frequency of a Sound Wave

The frequency of a sound wave is linked to our perception of the pitch of a sound. To our ears, higher frequencies have a higher pitch and lower frequencies have a lower pitch. A violin can produce frequencies well over 3000 Hertz while a bass on the other hand has frequencies around 60 to 250 Hertz. When you pluck or bow a violin, the string vibrates at a specific frequency and you can hear a certain pitch. Going up one octave is always the same as doubling the frequency and vice versa. Your human ear can detect sounds from 20 Hertz to 20,000 Hertz but as we age, so do our inner ears. There's some frequencies kids can hear that
