You once quoted Renee Girard, quote, joining the mob is the thing people don't realize. Do you agree with that? So people who join Twitter mobs are oblivious to the fact that they're part of a mob? Or do they have false consciousness? The momentum of a feeling can drive one into a mob without one being aware that that is exactly what they're doing. It's a very subliminal thing.

As a little girl, Cynthia Haven loved reading classic works of literature. At sixteen, she began her career as a reporter. And years later, those two interests converged as they led her to interview and write books about three writers and thinkers whom she also came to call mentors: René Girard, Czeslaw Milosz, and Joseph Brodsky.
