The Book of Abraham - Sources That Joseph Smith Owned
Joseph Smith appears to have borrowed from Thomas Dix philosophy of a future state and Thomas Taylor is the six books of Proclists on the theology of Plato. Paul Hanson, who is an LDS scholar, observed that there are many striking similarities between concepts in the book of Abraham and Dix book. And those are the kinds of things that churches will cite as if Joseph Smith couldn't have known that those were kind of talked about in ancient times yet.
