Government Bonds - Is That a Good Thing?

During world wars, a bengram talked about buying the bonds of governments that were losing the war. You know, usually investing government bonds doesn't make sense for individual investors. But i vosy, there's some government bonds and things of different countries that at times like this could get to very, um, high yields. So those, obviously, if you'd bought things in portugal or italy or whatever, ten years ago, you huld av non very well in those bonds.
