The One I Will Kiss Is the Man Sees Him

The word for betrayer is literally the one who hands over. That's important to understand that literal phrase because it's going to echo a key prophet in the Old Testament. In Daniel 7, it talks about how the Son of Man will be given the kingdom. But this only happens after the saints. After the righteous are handed over into the hands of the wicked. And so what Jesus is doing in himself is he is embodying what happens to the righteous. They are betrayed into thehands of the wicked so that the kingdom of God can be realized. We might also point out that the language here reminds us of this sacrifice of Isaac in the book of Genesis.
