Climate and Education

On 20 18, we saw a mass ive teachers strikes in west virginia, kentucky and oklahoma. The three states had in common is that they have fossil fuel based economies in part. Yet the strikes were not at all explicitly about climate or the environment. Did you see some sort of nascent ego socialist, or perhaps just at least ego social democratic labor politics taking shape? Why do you think that connection is important and not just a coincidence?
