CHAPTER

The Role of Force Plates in the Return to Play Process

We've used force plates for a screening perspective both with counter movement jump and with drop jump. We look at three key metrics which are the main eccentric force, the main concentric force and both of those asymmetries right versus left and then the peak landing force asymmetry. So we've got three asymmetry measurements there that we can compare and contrast against that individual and also the rest of the squad. The lads who have potentially had links to previous injury will display asymmetry of greater than 50% which could have an indication of a potential further injury. so we've looked at 15% as our cut off point.
