The silent, invidious pandemic of AMR is not getting the focus we need. In 2019, nearly 1.2 million people died across the world of antibiotic resistance from resistant bacteria. That's more than died in that year of HIV or TB or malaria. It makes it the third most important underlying cause of death after heart disease and stroke.
