Part Two: Oskar Dirlwanger: The Worst Nazi

Behind the Bastards

CHAPTER

The Durowanger Brigade - Is This Really a Nazi?

The story of the Durowanger Brigade starts to come to an end during an action against the Red Army. Oscar gets separated from his unit because he's hurt pretty bad. He goes into hiding near his own old hometown. Most of his soldiers die fighting. Some of them get captured and some of them do a lot, you know, do dessert. So there's cases of like anti-fascists who deserted and join the Red Army and wind up fighting there anyway. And this is a story that does thankfully have, I'm not going to call it a nightmare, but it's close to a happy ending as you are going to get in a story about the Holocaust.
