Environmental Terrorism
The use of Agent Orange during the Vietnam War caused extensive environmental damage. Iraqi forces committed environmental terrorism by setting fire to hundreds of oil wells in Kuwait. In more recent times, groups in the Gaza Strip have used balloons to set fire to woodland in Israel. The destruction of forests and the release of pollutants into the fires contributes to soil erosion and loss of biodiversity.
