The Politics of the Minimum Wage

The economics on this is very clear. Politicians like to present it as economists aren't in agreement with the effects of the minimum wage. In fact, we'll disagree about who specifically is hurt, but there's almost universally, economists will tell you as you raise the minimum wage, you're going to get unemployment amongst the least qualified workers. So it's got to be the case that if politicians keep pushing this, it's not about the economics. It's about the politics. Lies are much easier to tell apparently.
