Is the Idea of a Summer Vacation in the Modern Economy for Workers?

The idea of the summer vacation in the modern economy for workers, where does that come from? Is that a bottom up idea. Does this really have to do with the schools being closed, as you know? Is that just the kind of alignment, that workers take time off to be with their kids at that time? Yet, i think the only place where you can really see a ful convergence of the complex politics of free time for workers with the school break, with the summer is France.
