The Importance of a Strong Male Role Model

Alexander's maternal grandfather decided to step in. He knew the boy needed a strong male role model in his life since Alexander's father had abandoned him and his mother when he was just a baby. The school focused more on dealing with the actual learning disabled kids and Alexander needed much more of a challenge. So his grandfather took him down to bits of park so that he could challenge the old men that sat at the tables to play chess every day. Other people would come to watch this boy play chess and beat the old koots who gossiped and bragged about how good they were. This must have given Alexander a much needed boost of confidence. It got a lot of positive attention from the sport
