Folkan Music - The Architecture of Notre Dam Cathedral

Chanting developed in notre dam dra around the 11 hundreds. Chant has gone from this kind of low rumble to something that's now much more decorated with multiple different notes. That style is called florid organum. And it was to reflect the size of the church. You couldn't just sing flat any more. You needed to reflect the decoration in the church, and most importantly, the size as your eyes look up towards the ceiling. Music is mathematics, vibrationan air moving through time. So why should it not match up with the very surfaces?
