I Think It's a Part of Their Leadership Qualities

Both russell oppenheimer and wickenstein were expelled from trinity for their views on the war. Wickenstein didn't lead a public life because he held no public position. He led no pub campaign, and so the state was indifferent to him. But is there an element of suffering? Is there a sense in which he suffered for his qualities that made him a leader? I would say yes, in a very different way - it's a self imposed suffering like saint francis not owning anything.
