Ef and Ejection Fractions in Heart Failure
Ef is the amount of blood your heart is spitting out of that LV for one week over the total amount of blood that was in that LV prior to it contracting. Another term for that is end-diastolic volume. We both have normal preserved projection fractions, right? I'm very practical, I'm very visual so I like to give kind of these examples. So there is a really big difference in the amount of cardiac output and blood that these patients are getting out into their body.
