Pluralistic Ignorance and the Survival of Very Bad Behaviors

Pluralistic ignorance, basically, there is a disconnect between people personal beliefs and people normative expectation. When they survive, because of pluralistic ignorance, the environment is such that it doesn't allow trasparent communication. I so the chilet is to figure how to go from a place where everyone has some kind of private belief that doesn't line oup with their behavior. But it's not easy. The social norm only survive because if you don't follow you will be punished, because very often they become internalized. We don't need any punishment. Sometimes convention becomes social norms.
