Is There a Difference Between Local Government and State?
When the local government policies have externalities that impact either neighboring jurisdictions or a larger regional area, then there's an argument to be made for greater co operation among localities. And housing is clearly one of those. So if every local government within a metro area chooses not to build low income housing, that's in their individual financial incentive,. but then the region doesn't have housing where, you know, housekeepers and baristas can live.
