CHAPTER

The Evolution of the Chinese Revolution and Critique of the Chinese Communist Party in 2024

This chapter explores the progression from the initial progressive reforms in the Chinese Revolution of 1949 to a critical analysis of the Chinese Communist Party's current state in 2024, seen as moving towards privatization and a departure from planned economy principles.

One thing too, I want to bring up since you were listening to a Trotskyist podcast here, everyone, I'm speaking for everyone here, but like because I know everyone here, that's why, but like we support the Chinese Revolution of 1949 as one of the greatest events in history. We absolutely do support it. They abolished land lordism, capitalism, feudalism, and ended the practice of foot binding in China. Those are all massively progressive things. The iron rice bowl, great programs, giving back land to the peasantry. Good stuff. Okay. And that's where it kind of starts dry. But then by the 50s, things get weird. And where China is in 2024 is that, like I said, the CCP, the Chinese Communist Party of China, in my opinion, is a mass bourgeois party in 2024. This man is supporting a country that right now is privatizing the last of its state on enterprises. They gave up the monopoly on free trade around 2001. Like the planned economy is going away rapidly. There's a very small amount of it left. Like I said, Aaron points out they only have red flags. That's about the only thing. And the red flag has four stars, five stars on it. Don't ask about some of those stars that shouldn't be on it. But like,
Speaker 1
yeah, you know, there's also the fact that China, you know, off and on in the, you know, the 50s and 60s, they did various international aid, you know, to bear a degree, some of it, you know, they had some very bad policies, of course. But they stopped pretty much any form of internationalism by the 70s. And what are they doing now? They don't even like mass print marks as books, at least the Soviet Union did that until the very end.
Speaker 4
And this is what
Speaker 1
they don't. It's like the like when they talk about Chinese economic successes, for who? Like what is the success? Is it just like, you know, a bunch of skyscrapers going up having nice trains? OK, that's that can be nice. But it's like, is it like, are you abolishing like class distinctions? Are you furthering the development of socialism?
