Are You Saying That Higher Interest Rates Are Not Going to Work Through?
You're saying your hawkishness isn't you don't want to necessarily cool the labor market so that layoffs are stopped wages which stop pressure on prices. That sort of sounds like what a number of Fed officials and including the chairman seem to be implying. But how does higher interest rates? I mean, you've been on record as the next two years bringing the rates to five percent or so. How does that aid the process you're talking about? Yeah, I think you have to have credibility with businesses that the future inflation will be lower than it was over last year.
