I grasped like, wow, it's really hard to be a young artist because how do you get shown? Whereas the material circumstances of creating a book or a chapbook are still publishing something or a zine is accessible. So there's this entire women in Trent movement in the 1970s into the early 80s that people who in the past not had any access to creating culture through words took the reign and were able to start presses. I also had that feeling about actors. How do you get to be a working actor? Somebody else has to decide.
