The Role of Electrodiagnostic Studies in Owner Nerve Surgery

There were 25 cases in 23 patients who underwent isolated ulnar nerve surgery at the elbow with negative electrodignostic studies performed by 10 fellowship trained orthopedic hand surgeons. Preoperatively, all 25 had positive tunnel sign. Positive elbow flexion test was present in 74%. Medial elbow tenderness was present in 73%. Based on the McGowan classification, 14 were class 1, which is mild symptoms of parastasia and no motor changes, which was 56%. And 11 patients, which is 44%, were class 2, which is persistent parastasia associated with mild weakness.
