Is It a Caricature of Altuser?
i think altuser is an invaluable project that we need to remain sort of committed to in some former fashion. I mean, i don't know the later altuser that well, but i have read the machiavelli in us. There's a more robust attempt, through reading of Machiavelli's the prince, to try to reconcile structure and subject. Within that space, within that void, there is a kind of alliatory opening, an opening for something. So it's not that it's a kind of blank slate for political subjects to be able to to change things. It might go one way or another - consolidation of capitalists, social forces and political forces. But
