There's some very interesting data showing that the inflammation associated with gout is probably quite detrimental, particularly with respect to cardiovascular disease. It's not really clear that reducing the serum uric acid rate either in people with asymptomatic hyperurysemia or indeed those with gout by itself has benefits for cardiovascular disease. Or indeed, you know, reduces CKD progression in people with chronic kidney disease plus gout. But I think there are clearly going to be other effects.
