In the 1990s, I was in charge of managing portfolio of Japanese equities. And it was a constant issue in Japan that companies would throw off out of cash flow. If you don't do anything, if you don't invest it, and you don't return it to shareholders, you're really kind of locking it up. It's not generating any sort of return for the company. So how should you think about it? Well, the way to think about it is it's a creative for the continuing owners of the business.
