The Tradeoff Between Helping a Family Member or a Friend Who Has Alcoholism and a Stranger Who Needs a Measles Vaccine

I think I would completely agree with you in the case where you're comparing, helping a family member or a friend who's struggling with alcoholism versus a stranger. In that case, it just seems far more tractable to try to help the person who you already know. You're far more likely to succeed and that's a good reason to do it. But we kind of think that antibiotics help to cure bacterial infections most of the time in most places. It's not super contextual. And also just the people over there so much poorer than other people in your country in almost all cases,. There's things that they can't buy for themselves that really would be very helpful for them.
