The Importance of Information Architecture in Web Design

One thing I love about the semantic elements of HTML5 is its information architecture. Do we design artifacts and pages and designs, give it to the interaction designer who gives it to the developer and we trust the developer to make the call? So there really is an opportunity here for if more designers understood the HTML5 semantic outline of a page,.
