Odolf hitler was a strong candidate for the german presidency in 19 32. But he could only earn citizenship by taking on a government position. The first attempt to arrange this was made by wilhelm frick, remember him? Frick had become interior minister in the german state of turingia. On february 20, sixth, hitler was sworn in to his new position and was granted german citizenship. His first official act was to request a leave of absence from his new post so he could run for president, which was granted.
