The Difference Between Illegitimate and Legitimate Paternity

Mixed-race children were not necessarily confused about their identity, but had problems in the way that they thought about themselves. They had been completely cut off from half of their heritage. If a father was sure about his paternity he would bring his children over to the UK and usually put them into foster care or put them into care with one of his family members. The purpose of that was to kind of socialise them in white British Protestant culture so that they would in future be able to pass as white effectively.
