The Role of PA Catheter in Hemodynamic Monitoring in Chronic Pulmonary Hypertension
RV failure and shock in the setting of chronic pulmonary hypertension like this case have a very high mortality. I think it's always important that people recognize that sort of acute mortality is not just in those first few hours, but it persists. Do you find a PA catheter to be helpful in these cases? We tend to recommend the use of vasopressin and LibaFed to maintain adequate systemic blood pressure. And again, that was ultimately what was started within a few hours of this patient coming to the CEO and she was started an IV remodelant.
