What's Happening in the Promised Land?
He who oppresses the poor to increase his own wealth or gives to the rich will only come to want. Judas Maccabees continues to dominate as we realize. It is really violent. And yet, remember, we're living in this fallen world. The Greeks had come in and they had completely destroyed Jewish people. They were out to kill them all. In fact, it even says in this chapter in chapter 5, the Gentiles were fighting against the Jews to slaughter all of them.
