Why Didn't It Work?
When we look at batavia, we see there's this class of european people who are mostly soldiers. And they form relationships, sometimes with women, like that's something people do. The solution would be to bring in dutch women, unmarried, into the colony and match them up with your european men; but it didn't work. Why did it not work? Well, eve a few reasons, i think. They think that the women are kind of ruining the whole enterprise.
