Sally Kohn: I wanted to sort of tell you a little bit about my psychological motivation for starting decouple. It very much came out of questions of climate doomism and flirting with eco-modernism. She says we live in a system that's largely based on historical sunlight combined with humans are taking 30 to 40% of the annual daily net primary productivity of the planet, one of 10 million species directing it towards us. We have grown our debt more every year at a higher percentage than we've grown our economy since you and I have been on the planet. This is so unsustainable that the step down has to happen by definition in the financial markets.
