Selling is halal to halal. Just make it conversational. Say, i'm going to think about what i'm asking someone and then offer them something they want in return. Make the result that you're offering an opportunity for people to give you money if they've desired it. Don't be afraid to ask a tough question or challenge your neighbor's views on things he thinks are too important not to share with the whole world. You'll get more respect from others when you don't have to defend yourself so much.
