Most of the habits that we engage in on a daily basis are designed either on purpose or by accident to satisfy our current self with little or no regard for our ideal self. Like hockey players always practice the fundamentals, every skill has the fundamentals. And I can think of another example just in, you know, amateur yoga practice that sometimes people who have been practicing for years and they may be used to taking intermediate level or advanced level classes can often get a lot of benefit by returning to those really foundational classes.
