How Did We Learn That Bees Have a Charge?

The electrical field around the flower would stay charged for up to a hundred seconds, which was long enough that the next bee could come along and it would know before even touching the flower. A few years later, this same group actually found out that the reason the bees can feel the electrical charge of the flowers is because the electrical field of flowers bends the small fuzzy hairs that covers their bodies. So it's literally like a spidey sense like literally like the hairs tingle.
