South-central Anatolia was a nice place to live before the Younger Dryas. It got much less pleasant after the cold snap, fewer people living there. As their populations increased over the fertile crescent in this period, people became increasingly sedentary. They moved around less and grew more tied to the resources they had become skilled at exploiting.
