The Role of Art in Mental Health

People who are engaged in the arts also have lower mental distress, better mental functioning and improved quality of life. Sound vibration is being used to return the body back to homeostasis out of that sort of fight, flight, or freeze reaction. Even something like a tuning fork in C or G can create sound waves to soothe the stress response and elicit relaxation. Light and sound are now being used to alter the progression of dementia.
