Addressing AI Bias and Discrimination

This chapter explores the potential unequal effects of AI displacement on workers of color and highlights the need for data transparency and ongoing auditing to address biases in AI systems. It discusses the negative impact of biases in data sets on individuals accused but not convicted of a crime, as well as the disproportionate impact of facial recognition cameras on African Americans and low-wealth communities.
